The Mittagong Maltings was once a large three-malthouse complex that supplied malt to breweries throughout the state.

After years of neglect, the 70,000m²+ site fell into a state of disrepair. That was until the owner got in touch with us here at Ironbuilt Infrastructure Pty Ltd. We’re slowly bringing the site back to life, starting with a full restoration with this beautiful access bridge spanning across part of the Nattai River, which runs through the property.

Restoring a bridge that’s over 100 years old meant we had to use period-specific construction materials; including driving hundreds of cast-iron nails into the hardwood boards. Incredibly labour-intensive, but the end result speaks for itself.
